Bohali is considered by many to be the most beautiful village of the island. Its located 2 km away from the city centre and provides visitors with a panoramic view of the town, Argasi and Laganas bay. Its one of the city’s oldest neighbourhoods as it was the first area of expansion of the old city, that used to be in the castle. The earthquakes have destroyed the old mansions that decorated the village, but its traditional stone-built lanes are still worth a visit.
An imposing church is located at the end of the village’s square, Panagia the Hrisopigi containing a religious painting of Panagia dating back to 848 A.D. The lush hill side of Bohali, the amazing view of the area and the traditional pulse of the village that is preserved to this day, are all evidence that any visitor to the island should not overlook this charming village
